Seed Cake

Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler: King 'Seed' Cake Offers A Twist On "Letting The Good Times Roll"

The "King Cake" takes its name from the three kings and is a traditional part of many Mardi Gras celebrations. The season for King Cake extends from Twelfth Night through to Mardi Gras day. Some organizations or groups of friends may have "King Cake Parties" every week through the Carnival season. In the southern United States, the tradition was brought to the area by colonists from France and Spain and it is associated with Mardi Gras), which is celebrated in the Gulf Coast region, centered on New Orleans and Mobile, but ranging from the Florida Panhandle to East Texas. Traditional King Cake parties in New Orleans are documented back to the eighteenth century.

Of particular interest is that in some mysterious circles, the recipe and representation of the cake has taken on a more erotic context. In a celebration of and for virility, the cake for these groups, has the element of semen added to the typical ingredients and thusly the confection is called King Seed Cake. Furthermore, as with the traditional cake, a small trinket is enveloped inside. But in the case of the King Seed Cake, the trinket - instead of a being a baby, bean or pea - is a miniature penis or phallic charm.

At the celebration, when the cake is served, the person who gets the piece of cake with the penis trinket is said to be assured a year of great virility, sexual prowess and pleasure. They also may have various privileges and obligations such as bringing the cake for the next celebration (or next year's celebration), performing special duties at various gatherings or ceremonies of the season, receiving sexual favors from the other celebrants or hosting the next Mardi Gras party.

The typical composition of King Cake for the New Orleans Mardi Gras tradition comes in a number of styles. The most traditional, is a ring of twisted bread similar to that used in brioche topped with icing or sugar, usually colored purple, green, and gold (the traditional Mardi Gras colors) with food coloring.

The King Seed Cake follows the same composition but with the added element of semen - typically that of the man/men who bring(s) the cake or is hosting the ceremony, fest or gathering

Here is a recipe obtained for King Seed Cake. The directions for construction themselves are rife with potential symbolism or entendre, depending on your take. Note that It does require time and prior preparation...

Ingredients:
2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 - 1 cup warm milk (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1/4 - 1/2 cup semen
1/2 cup butter, melted
5 egg yolks
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon multicolored candy sprinkles
1 miniature penis trinket

Directions:
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and white sugar in warm milk and approx. 1/4 cup semen (more may be added if desired or available). Let stand until "creamy" - about 10 minutes.

Stir the egg yolks and melted butter into the "man-milk"" mixture. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, nutmeg and lemon zest. Beat the flour mixture into the man-milk/egg mixture 1 cup at a time. When the dough has pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and "knead until smooth and supple" - about 8 minutes.

Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl and turn to coat with oil. Cover with a damp cloth and let "rise in a warm place" until "doubled in volume" - about 2 hours.

In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese and 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, 1/4 cup (or remainder) of semen (more if desired or available). Mix well. In another small bowl, combine the remaining 2 cups confectioners' sugar, lemon juice and 2 tablespoons milk for the "glaze". Mix well and set aside.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Roll the dough out into a 6x30 inch rectangle. Spread the "man-cream cheese filling" across the center of the dough. Bring the two long edges together and seal completely. Using your hands shape the dough into a "long cylinder" (twist if desired - it adds another "twisted' element) and place on a greased baking sheet, seam-side down. Shape the dough into a ring and "press the penis" trinket "into the ring" from the "bottom so that it is completely hidden" by the dough. Place a well-greased 2 pound metal coffee can the center of the ring to maintain the shape during baking.

Cover the ring with a towel and place in a warm place to rise until "doubled in size" - about 45 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Remove the coffee can and allow the bread to cool. "Drizzle" cooled cake with lemon/sugar glaze and decorate with purple, gold and green candy "sprinkles" or crystal sugar.

Serve, Celebrate and Enjoy!!!...

Note: The inclusion of the needed amount of semen requires its collection or obtainment (typically through masturbation) prior to preparartion adding another erotic element. Fresh semen is used by some but others collect it beforehand (possibly through a number of sessions), freeze it then allow it to thaw before construction...
